intenseye
How does intenseye work?
Intenseye is an AI-powered EHS platform. Our software integrates with the existing CCTV cameras in the facilities and works with real-time streaming. The facilities are monitored 24/7, and Intenseye notifies the EHS teams about the unsafe acts and conditions in their facilities, enabling them to take required precautions to eliminate the risks and hazards.
What is the state of privacy with intenseye?
Our EHS software collects and manages a wide range of data on your company’s occupational health and safety and environmental impact. Analyzing the collected data provides you with insights to take preventative measures to reduce the number of incidents experienced in your facility to zero.
Collection of such data is quite a time and effort-consuming; yet, Intenseye monitors the facilities 7/24 and does this job for you.
Intenseye is a rapidly growing technology company that is backed by world-class venture capital firms including Coca-Cola, Coats, Suntory, King’s Hawaiian, and Johnson Matthey.

These use cases can be set up, as a rule, to send notifications to the EHS teams in the cases of slips, trips & falls, spill & leakage, working at heights, electrical hazards, worker machine interaction, ergonomics manual lifting, human-machine interaction, chemical handling, being hit by a falling object, being hit by a moving object, being trapped between stationary and moving objects, and vehicle collision.
Products
What kinds of EHS scenarios can be set up as a rule on your platform?
On our platform, a variety of Core AI features can be activated to detect unsafe acts and conditions in your workplace.
The PPE detection model can be used to ensure a safe working environment by detecting the use of Helmet, Glove, Apron, Sleeve, Respiratory Protective Equipment, Reflective Vest, and Glasses.
The Area Controls model can be used to ensure working areas in your facility are always safe with various EHS scenarios such as establishing worker minimum and maximums, preventing workers from entering restricted areas, and minimizing occupational exposures through time limits.
The Housekeeping model can be used to reduce the risks of slips, trips, falls and collisions by ensuring that vehicle paths and pedestrian walkways in your facility are always clear and safe.
The Vehicle Controls model can be used to manage your workplace traffic safety by ensuring the safe operation of vehicles at your workplace.
The Behavioral Safety model can be used to avoid the line of fire injuries such as pedestrians in vehicle paths, nonuse of handrails, and the violations of working at heights.
The Pandemic Control Measures model can be used to prevent contagious diseases by ensuring social distancing as well as proper mask use.
The Emergency Alerts can be used to get immediate notifications in situations such as when a worker falls on the ground or there is a fire-related emergency.
What’s more, with Ergonomics AI, our system detects risky actions for the body and prompts the managers to take the situation under control before any hazardous conditions arise. A variety of use cases can be set up as a rule under the Ergonomics AI feature to detect unsafe body movements, which are Trunk Position, Trunk Twisted Position, Trunk Side Bending Position, Lower Arm Position, Upper Arm Position, Neck Position, Neck Bending Position, and Arm Working Position.
How can we activate EHS scenarios?
EHS scenarios can be set up as a rule by selecting the area where the rule will be applied through the cameras. For the setup of each scenario, it is necessary to add no more than three to four parameters, which takes less than a minute. For example, when creating a Social Distancing rule, it is necessary to select the area, the desired distance between the personnel, and the duration for how long they can stand at that distance to trigger an alert in case.
Besides, as long as there are no changes in camera angles or the rule area, it is enough to configure rules just once.
Can new EHS scenarios be added to the platform?
We are working on the development of new scenarios in parallel with the dangers and risks the industries are trying to find solutions for and requests from the users. All scenarios are open to all users, and as new scenarios are added, all of our users can benefit from these scenarios.
How does the system send an alert when an unsafe situation is observed?
When there is an unsafe act or condition, an image and a 12-second video of that moment are displayed on the platform. It is sent as a real-time notification in the form of SMS or email to the EHS specialists.
Apart from the rule setup to prevent unsafe acts and conditions, what other features are offered by the platform?
Our EHS Platform also offers other useful services to keep workplace safety under control.
Alerts show the charts about all the alerts triggered in your facility according to their severity levels, categories, types, from which cameras they are sent, and in which work shift they are sent.
Compliance shows the compliance scores of the alerts you receive according to the types of alerts, cameras, and work shifts.
Visual Analytics shows visual representations of the area where a specific alert has occurred.
Task Management enables the management of the tasks that help reduce the number of alerts and increase the compliance score.
KPI Tracking enables to set and track of the key performance indicators.
AI Accuracy shows the graphs indicating how accurate the alerts you are receiving are.
Connectivity shows the charts about camera connections in your facility.
How is the Compliance score calculated?
Intenseye records not only unsafe acts and conditions ****but also ****compliant behaviors. Compatibility scores are obtained by dividing the number of safe acts and conditions by the number of totals detected (unsafe + safe acts and conditions) behaviors. Our goal is to raise this compliance score and to minimize alerts received as much as possible.
For example, suppose that a total of 100 workers are detected in an area where the Helmet rule is set up, and helmets are not used in 20 of these 100 detections while helmets are used in 80 detections. In such a case, the compliance score for the Helmet rule is calculated as 80% in the form of 80 /(80+20).
Suppose that our compliance score, which should normally be at a minimum of 80%, remains at 50%. How can we raise this score?
We evaluate unsafe behaviors experienced in their facilities and guide customers in 1-to-1 monthly meetings in order to raise the compliance scores. In these meetings, we share what measures our other customers have taken in similar situations and how they have decreased the number of unsafe conditions. In addition, we raise the awareness of EHS managers and customer success managers about the issue. We are discussing the scores in monthly meetings and informing customers about the ways to prevent unsafe acts and conditions.
What can we offer to the personnel through the platform in order to increase and spread EHS awareness, and how can we involve them in this technology?
The data provided through the platform can be transmitted to workers by means of tools such as reports and heatmaps. You can get a daily report or heatmap via the platform and transfer these to the personnel in the field. It has been observed that when workers are included in this process, more unsafe acts and conditions can be prevented.
Can we follow the corrective/preventive actions taken at our facilities via the platform?
Yes, notifications sent are simultaneously reflected in the analytical data. You can access these daily, weekly, or monthly data and follow the direct impact of the corrective/preventive actions on the unsafe acts and conditions via the platform.
How possible is it for the system to make an error and to keep the manager busy in vain?
Our goal is to achieve an accuracy rate of 95%. We are able to reach this rate through our work with the facilities. That is, out of 100 notifications that are sent, 95 of them are right, and only 5 of them are likely to be false.
How can we share unsafe act/condition notifications with our colleagues?
You can make others notified of unsafe acts/conditions via SMS or email. In the rule setup of each use case, you can set SMS and email notifications for the people who are logged in to the platform. For example, when you select “Send email or SMS to contact X” on the setup of the Restricted Height rule, all notifications for this rule will be sent to contact X.
Under the Reports page on the platform, you can also create automatic camera-based or facility-based emails and share a summary report with alert counts and heatmaps to the contacts you select on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Are there any operator costs charged for the SMS service offered by intenseye?
No, it is a service offered free of charge.
Data Privacy
What is the state of privacy with intenseye?
Privacy is a top priority at intenseye. Our software does not capture any personally identifiable information from the visual data that we process.
While screenshots and short videos are taken for the detection of unsafe acts and conditions, people are recorded and stored as analytical data after their faces are completely blurred. If there is no non-compliance, these images are instantly deleted.
What are some of your compliance certifications for data privacy?
We are compliant with the EU Seal of Excellence, Penetration Test, AI Ethics Lab, and GDPR.
How secure is it to monitor workers 24 / 7 for their personal privacy?
On our platform, people’s faces are completely blurred. It is not possible to tell who they are when viewing an image or watching a video. Any biometric data related to the employees are not retained, either. Our main purpose is to analyze how often unsafe acts or conditions happen, and to focus more on the ways to prevent them. Images or videos accessed through the platform can also be viewed as blurred. We exist to scale worker safety and protect their privacy.
Can the workers who engage in unsafe acts and conditions be identified upon requests of the managers?
No, they cannot be identified. We don’t intend to create a reward/punishment system for the workers. Rather, it is intended to reveal areas requiring improvement in the facility. We focus on what issues need to be developed in the facility.
Can the face blurring feature be removed from the platform?
The face blurring feature cannot be removed. We do not provide any data to identify a person through the platform, nor do we keep this data on our side.
Although the installation is done on existing cameras in facilities, is it necessary to get additional consent from the workers?
It is not necessary to get any additional consent as any personal data is not stored. However, we recommend you to inform your personnel about the installation of intenseye software on the existing cameras in your facility. This can promote them to pay more attention, and in this way, reduce the risk to zero.
How and for how long is the collected data retained?
We do not store all the images on cloud servers. This will require a huge cost and space. We store the image, 12-second video, and analytic data of an act or condition in case of any noncompliance. As a contract, we create a retention period of 720 days. We can increase this period or reduce it depending on the company’s demand.
Is the data retained in your or the company's server?
It is recorded on the cloud. We process the video image and record the image as well as a 12-second video of this moment if there is a situation that affects job security.
Installation & Integration
What are the deployment options?
Intenseye offers Cloud and On-premise deployment options to its customers.
Which camera brands are compatible with intenseye?
Our product is compatible with 90% of the IP cameras. Our software works with almost any camera that supports h.264 video encoding and RTSP streaming protocol, which is almost all of them currently available on the market.
How can I integrate our software into intenseye?
We have various endpoints for you to integrate your software or hardware into our notification system. You can check out our API documentation here!
How do smart devices help?
With the launch of smart devices, computer vision can be brought to life. When unsafe acts and conditions are detected, visual alarms and audible alerts can get triggered in real-time. For example, if a forklift is operating beyond the speed limit, an automated voice warning can be announced from the smart speakers.
How can smart devices be integrated?
Intenseye can connect with various smart devices and provide API notification integration to trigger systems in your organization automatically.
Can your software analyze all the areas that cameras are recording? What is the maximum distance?
AI models can only detect the things that can be seen by the naked eye. For example, if we zoom in on an earplug from the camera, we can’t still see it with our eyes. Therefore, it is not possible for us to model it, but we can develop our models for the parts that are visible.
Can the number of cameras be increased or decreased while the system is working?
Yes, the number of cameras can be increased or decreased as desired.
If the cameras in the facility get disconnected without us knowing, how can I realize this and what can we do to fix this?
Intenseye Monitoring technologies automatically detect disconnected cameras. When a camera disconnection is detected, our Customer Support team informs the customers within a business day about the disconnected cameras with detailed error information to make the local IT team’s troubleshooting process easier.
Customer Onboarding & Support
How often do you get together with the EHS teams of the facilities?
After the completion of camera integrations, our Customer Success managers contact the EHS units of the companies and plan the onboarding training. Firstly, a three-hour training is given about intenseye, the platform features, and the rule setup on the platform. In the following week, a follow-up meeting is held, and we check if all the rule setups have been completed. Following that, monthly meetings are held with the facility, and they are informed about the evaluation of the data on the platform and the latest intenseye product/feature releases.
How can we get support when we have a problem on the platform or want to learn how to use a feature?
If you need live support, you can contact our Customer Support team from the live integrated chat on the platform.
